A deposit is required to guarantee your space in a class. All payments are refundable in full, for cancellations made up to one week before class. There will be no refunds/roll-overs for cancellations made by a student after the cut-off date. Please notify us if someone else will be filling in for you. It's the student's responsibility to remember the class time. We appreciate your cooperation in abiding by these guidelines.

Please make reservations at least one week in advance.

Z Bead provides students with the basic tools to use in class but supplies need to be purchased by the student.

A full refund plus a coupon good for a one-time store discount will be given for any class cancelled by Z Bead. Class make-up is at the teacher's discretion.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are held for one to two persons seeking individual help. The rate is $35 an hour, with a minimum of two hours. We hold private lessons at our store, before or after store hours.Call today to schedule your private lesson: 713-526-2216

General Beading

All Tied Up*
Instructed by Andrea
Learn to make the hottest new accessory of the summer! The leather bracelet, inspired by Chan Luu. Students will learn to use linen cord to lash beads onto leather to create a ladder design. This multiple-wrap jewelry piece can be worn as a bracelet or a choker. Note: Students must pre-string their beads for this class, so make sure to sign up well in advance.

Bead Brunch
With the Z Bead Staff
Do you have a class project that you have never finished? Do you need a reminder for a technique you learned in one of our classes? Then a Sunday Bead Brunch is the perfect place for you to have a snack, hang out with other students, and bring that unfinished project to have one of our staff members help you out. Please bring your handout from your class if you need specific help. Bead Brunch is open and free to all current and former Z Bead students!

Beginning Jewelry Design and Assembly*

Learn the basics of jewelry assembly! Students will learn about the components and techniques of making earrings, bracelets, and necklaces in order to design and make their own creations. This is both a lecture and hands-on course.

Multi-Strand Bracelet**

Are you ready to move beyond basic stringing?  This class covers two different ways to finish off multi-strand bracelets, with two distinct looks to choose from. You will learn tips for effective design, the purpose of a spacer bar, and how to select and use cones.

Tiny Bubbles*

An explosion of teardrops creates an eye-catching ring. And finally, a class that teaches the elusive technique of the stretchy bracelet! In this fun two-hour class, students will create a fun cluster ring and simple stretchy bracelet with teardrops. Or take a walk on the wild side and use glass dagger beads for a spiky, fun look. This class is excellent for beginners and kids.

Totally Twisted**

This winter, give your outfit a totally show-stopping look and complete your wardrobe with your very own Totally Twisted bracelet.  Students will use Swarovski crystals and Japanese seed beads to create this sparklious bracelet. Students will learn how to create the pattern of interwoven circles that make up this bracelet

Crochet Crafts

Fancy Crochet Lariat I*
Instructed by Andrea
Take a dive into the exciting world of fibers and beads in this fun and fabulous class. You will use a chain stitch to blend silk cord and a variety of beads into a stunning lariat-style necklace. So easy and versatile, you will want one in every color!

Fancy Crochet Lariat II**

Go to great lengths with your fancy crochet lariat ! In this class, we will cover joining cords to make longer lariats. We will also learn to use top-drilled beads as focal beads or tassel ends. Students wishing to take this class must have completed the Fancy Crochet Lariat I class.

Hand Crochet Necklace**

Is your style unique? Create a hand crocheted necklace that makes a statement and completes your look this winter. In this one night class, students will learn the art of hand crocheting using our new line of Funky Embellishment Fibers. Learn to enhance your hand crochet necklace by mixing beads with our funky fibers.

Learn the chain stitch, the basis for all crochet patterns in the class. You’ll chain beaded strands and braid them together to create an intricate, multi-strand bracelet.

Crystal Tier Earrings*

Learn wire-wrapping techniques while using beads, chain, and wire to create fantastic chandelier earrings. You will finish at least one style during class.

In one night, you will learn three fun and simple earring designs. Each earring takes only a few minutes, but will look like you spent hours and hours on them. This class is excellent for all levels!

Knotting Skills

Knotting Techniques*

Save money by learning how to knot like a professional! You will learn everything from choosing cord, tying uniformed spacer knots, and finishing techniques. Several methods will be taught; one is sure to be right for you! No beading experience necessary.

Seed Beading

Ndbele Bracelet Night*

Learn the elegant and unusual ndbele technique, which is a herringbone pattern that has been used in off loom beading for over 200 years.  In this two-night class we will make an amazing bracelet from start to completion.

Tubular Peyote Bracelet*

Are you bored with simple stringing? Try tubular peyote stitch. In this two-night class students will learn tubular peyote and create a bracelet from beginning to end. Learn the peyote stitch while creating the bracelet then learn to attach the clasp. Voila! Walk out with a stunning new bracelet to show off. This class is great for beginners!

Wire Techniques

Advanced Clasps**

Are you on the hunt for unusual clasps? If you loved Clasps1 this class will pick up where you left off. This class will teach you more advanced techniques for making your own clasps, safety catches, and decorative scroll clasps and more.

Cascade of Teardrops Necklace**

Become an expert on wire-wrapping top-drilled teardrop beads. You will learn to create a stunning necklace with cascading teardrops, chain, and wire. Basic wire skills needed.

Clasps I*

Wouldn’t it be great to save money, plus have your clasps look as unique as your one-of-a-kind piece? In this one evening class let your creativity flow all the way to the “end” of your pieces by custom-making your own clasps. Introduction to Wire is helpful for this class.

Coiled Wire Cuff Bracelet*

Highlight your most precious beads on a cuff of sterling wire. Students will learn to refine their wire coiling techniques by combining several different sizes of wire together in this unique bracelet.

Create a Pendant*

A perfect necklace starts with a pretty pendant. Learn how to enhance your focal bead by turning it into a pendant using chain and wire wrap techniques. Check out the fashions featured in the magazines and you’ll know you need to learn this one! The techniques learned in this class will also apply to other areas of jewelry such as earrings or tassels.

Introduction To Wire Wrapping*

Learn to create earrings, pendants, and charms. Make custom chains and necklaces with a link-to-link technique. See how to add a touch of whimsy to your designs with coiled bead-caps and spiral headpins. This is a great technique class for those wanting to explore wire wrapping! Wire is included. Beading experience not necessary.

Simply Charming*

Have you been collecting unique beads for that perfect project? Why not show them off in a "Simply Charming Bracelet?" In this class, students will learn to create headpins, including simple, open triangle spirals, and spirals (with variations) to showcase your amazing beads. Students will also create a double spiral charm and a spiral link to add just a little more charm.

Wire-Wrapping Stones, Rocks, & Crystals***

Do you have stones without holes that you don’t know what to do with? Learn to wire-wrap those crystals and stones to create one-of-a-kind designs. From simple cages to more complex basket weave styles, you can master three different wrapping techniques in this 3-hour workshop. Note: Introduction to Wire Wrapping needed for this class.
