A deposit is required to guarantee your space in a class. All payments are refundable in full, for cancellations made up to one week before class. There will be no refunds/roll-overs for cancellations made by a student after the cut-off date. Please notify us if someone else will be filling in for you. It's the student's responsibility to remember the class time. We appreciate your cooperation in abiding by these guidelines.

Please make reservations at least one week in advance.

Z Bead provides students with the basic tools to use in class but supplies need to be purchased by the student.

A full refund plus a coupon good for a one-time store discount will be given for any class cancelled by Z Bead. Class make-up is at the teacher's discretion.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are held for one to two persons seeking individual help. The rate is $35 an hour, with a minimum of two hours. We hold private lessons at our store, before or after store hours.Call today to schedule your private lesson: 713-526-2216

General Beading

All Tied Up*
Instructed by Jennifer
Learn to make the hottest new accessory of the summer! The leather bracelet, inspired by Chan Luu. Students will learn to use linen cord to lash beads onto leather to create a ladder design. This multiple-wrap jewelry piece can be worn as a bracelet or a choker. Note: Students must pre-string their beads for this class, so make sure to sign up well in advance.

Bead Brunch
With the Z Bead Staff
Do you have a class project that you have never finished? Do you need a reminder for a technique you learned in one of our classes? Then a Sunday Bead Brunch is the perfect place for you to have a snack, hang out with other students, and bring that unfinished project to have one of our staff members help you out. Please bring your handout from your class if you need specific help. Bead Brunch is open and free to all current and former Z Bead students!

Beginning Jewelry Design and Assembly*

Learn the basics of jewelry assembly! Students will learn about the components and techniques of making earrings, bracelets, and necklaces in order to design and make their own creations. This is both a lecture and hands-on course.

Breezy Trapezee Earrings*

Make swingin’ earrings to match this season’s favorite silhouette -- the trapeze! In this one-night class, learn how to use chain and wire to create stunning earrings that swing to and fro. We will make two kinds of trapeze earrings, a pair of ear-wires, and learn how to wire-wrap.

Calculated Asymmetry Necklace**
Instructed by Meredith
Taught before as “Rational Chaos” at the Nomadic Notions in Austin, TX, this class is for beaders with some previous experience who want to step up their skill-set and increase their necklace-making repertoire ten-fold. Over two sessions, we will learn and execute a simple formula for creating random-looking and asymmetrical designs! This class is especially intended for those seeking to “think outside the box” without all the brain-wracking effort.

Tantalizing Top-Drilled Cluster Bracelet* (NEW!)

Learn this quick, easy, and needle-less version of the two-needle right angle weave stitch by creating a gorgeous textured bracelet out of top-drilled beads! In this one-nighter, everyone will learn the technique AND complete a beautiful unique bracelet that is sure to have your peers begging you to make them all one too!

Totally Twisted**

This winter, give your outfit a totally show-stopping look and complete your wardrobe with your very own Totally Twisted bracelet.  Students will use Swarovski crystals and Japanese seed beads to create this sparklious bracelet. Students will learn how to create the pattern of interwoven circles that make up this bracelet

Crochet Crafts

Fancy Crochet Lariat I*

Take a dive into the exciting world of fibers and beads in this fun and fabulous class. You will use a chain stitch to blend silk cord and a variety of beads into a stunning lariat-style necklace. So easy and versatile, you will want one in every color!

Fancy Crochet Lariat II**

Go to great lengths with your fancy crochet lariat ! In this class, we will cover joining cords to make longer lariats. We will also learn to use top-drilled beads as focal beads or tassel ends. Students wishing to take this class must have completed the Fancy Crochet Lariat I class.

Easy Macramé Choker*

Have you been afraid to dip your toes in the art of seed beading?  Do you crave instant gratification?  This class will show you that peyote is nothing to fear -- by the end of the night you will be creating your own woven beads and bails in minutes.

Bangle bracelets are so trendy right now! Why not learn how to create your own extraordinary version of this popular blinging and banging bracelet? We will make a sturdy bracelet core with coils of wire, decorate it with beautiful accent beads, and create our own clasp!

Introduction To Wire Wrapping*

Learn to create earrings, pendants, and charms. Make custom chains and necklaces with a link-to-link technique. See how to add a touch of whimsy to your designs with coiled bead-caps and spiral headpins. This is a great technique class for those wanting to explore wire wrapping! Wire is included. Beading experience not necessary.

Kuchi Coiled Wire Beads*
Instructed by Ashlea
Learn to create beads out of hand-coiled wire.  You will then combine these handmade beads with your favorite semi-precious stones or art glass to create a nifty bracelet.  It is helpful to know how to make simple wire wrap loops before taking this class.

This style is so hot right now!  In this one night class you will learn to make a necklace by working with bound loops of wire instead of cord.  Use all the same beads or mix it up with many different shapes, sizes, colors or materials.

Learn to make gorgeously unique pendants that will spice up your necklace designs and speak quite highly of your skill-set! These focal beauties look complex, but are made with ease using fine wire. Woven-wire technique and bound-loop wire wrapping will be taught.
